Wine and spirit evening just the tonic

Batemans, as a family business based in Lincolnshire, has a long-held tradition of supporting local businesses and looking for emerging trends in the drinks industry. Under our wholesale alcohol arm J E Ridlington’s, we strive to source and offer the latest range of drinks to satisfy all tastes and budgets.

So, it was our pleasure to host a wine and spirits evening recently where we sampled the Ridlington’s range of wines and invited a mix of established and upcoming spirits producers to share their wares. The evening was designed to showcase the best of local drinks but also provided an opportunity for the suppliers to chat to landlords about getting the best from a quality range of spirits.

Kerry and Steve, landlords at the Red Lion, Revesby summed up the evening perfectly: “We found the evening very informative and well attended. It was good to meet other business owners and discuss ideas with them. As a consequence of the evening we had made some changes and introduced some new ideas. We are having a gin tasting evening and we had added new fresh garnishes to our gin servings eg rhubarb. We are also adding new shelving to our back bar in order to increase space for wine displays and we have cleared a section of the back bar and changed it into a gin station, which displays all the gins we have on our new gin menus.”
