Step back in time
You’ll be taking a walk down memory lane in Mr Harry’s Artefacts Room. Named after our grandfather, the son of the Brewery’s founder, George Bateman, the room is set up as Harry’s office would’ve been at the end 19th century. You can nose through artefacts and original documents from Batemans history, including some written by George that date back to 1899.
They’ll give you a fascinating insight into the business of agriculture, brewing, transport and pubs in times gone by. Known for his no-nonsense approach to business, there’s even an old letter to a customer, threatening to take his cows if he didn’t pay up! As you’d expect from a brewing boss’s office, you’ll also see displays of old Batemans pump clips and beer bottles.
