Visitors Centre

A day of ‘fun, food and froth’

Our Visitors Centre really is the jewel in the Brewery’s crown; a place where we celebrate the past and present of Batemans and welcome guests from near and far. There’s a fascinating brewery tour, an enticing calendar of events throughout the seasons, old brewing and Batemans family artefacts, the biggest collection of bottled beers in the country and good food and drink to enjoy. This historic Brewery offers a glimpse into the world of Batemans.

The Centre is housed in our beautiful 18th century windmill overlooking the River Steeping, making it one of Lincolnshire’s most picturesque tourist attractions. Beer lovers and curious tourists alike come for our warm welcome and the promise of a day of ‘fun, food and froth’.

Step back in time with our Brewery Tour

See how brewing at Batemans has evolved since 1874, with a tour of our brewhouses old and new. We’ll start in our Victorian Brewhouse, gleaming with copper and brass equipment, leading on to our modern Brewhouse, which was opened in 2002 and is named the Theatre of Beers. This was inspired by the naming of Manchester United’s ‘The Theatre of Dreams’; just like at MUFC, our Beer Club members have their names printed on bricks in our Brewhouse walls.

Our tour guides are knowledgeable and amusing, making the tour interesting, entertaining and fun (not just for beer lovers) and will raise a smile all-round.

Experience a bygone era in Harry’s Artefacts Room (our Grandfather, 2nd generation Bateman), where you’ll find carefully preserved objects and letters dating back to 1899. Marvel at one of the UK’s biggest collections of beer-bottles and vintage brewery posters, then finish off with a Batemans beer in Mr George’s Bar (our Father, 3rd generation Bateman) or you can choose from our selection of wines, spirits, soft drinks, teas and coffees.
