Tribute to Head Brewer

It was sad to hear of the passing of Dennis Hartley, our Head Brewer in the 1960s and 70s, last week.

Dennis worked closely with George Bateman in developing and modernising the brewery and introducing new beers.

He last returned to Wainfleet in 2018, to celebrate 40 years of Bateman’s brewing Triple XB, when four generations of Bateman’s brewers reunited.

He was extremely well thought of at the Brewery and we are all grateful for the legacy he left behind.

Our thoughts are with Miles and the rest of the Hartley family.
