Individual wines for August

Red Wine – Me & You Tempranillo
This is a lighter fruity Spanish wine which works well around summer holidays. It is a brilliant cherry red with vivacious maroon reflections. The refreshing red has an aroma packed with strawberries, red plums and raspberries reminiscent of Wimbledon! Very smooth on the palate, with low tannin content, it is a diverse wine which pairs well with Spanish-inspired food such as barbecues, grilled meats and smoky dishes along with Pizza, tomato-based sauces and Mexican food.

White Wine – You & Me Albarino
A lovely tasty Spanish wine for the summer, this is a truly refreshing Albarino oozing with floral and tropical fruit flavours. Albarino is an excellent pairing for seafood, creamy cheese dishes, grilled fish, pasta and risotto.

Rosé Wine – La Promenade Cote de Provence Rosé
La Provence is an award-winning, superb summer rosé that is a change from the white zinfandels and pinot grigio you see all year long. With aromas of red berries and white blossoms, it is refreshing and elegant with citrus notes. Pair with aperitifs, grilled fish, meats, seafood, oriental dishes, salad -it’s even brilliant with a barbecue!

Case of the month – Cono Sur Riesling
The case of the month is the Cono Sur Riesling, which was the wine of the month for July. A Chilean Riesling, this is a full-bodied yet perfectly balanced wine with delicate notes of grapefruit, quince and lemon, all set off by aromas of peach and jasmine. It’s very intense and with a unique likeability. The beauty of this Riesling is that is pairs especially well with seafood and spicy Asian food.
