Step back in time
For those on the brewery tour, you’ll be taking a walk down memory lane in Mr Harry’s Artefacts Room. The room is named after our grandfather, the son of the Brewery’s founder, George Bateman. You can nose through artefacts and original documents from Batemans history, including some written by George that date back to 1899.
They’ll give you a fascinating insight into the business of agriculture, brewing, transport and pubs in times gone by. Known for his no-nonsense approach to business, there’s even an old letter to a customer, threatening to take his cows if he didn’t pay up! There are also displays of old pump clips, bottles, old brewery merchandise.
