The wines included in June’s mixed case selection are one of each of:

Blass Reserve Shiraz Cabernet
This classic Australian blend combines the best qualities of both grapes to create a wine that is loaded to the brim with juicy plum and red berries, with subtle hints of sweet spice.  Superb on its own and magnificent with smoky, BBQ’d meat or spicy lamb.

Blass Reserve Chardonnay Semillon
Another archetypal Australian blend with the chardonnay providing refreshing citrus and pear fruit flavours and the Semillon adding ripe peach and nectarine and a mouth feel that is round and juicy.

Denbies Surrey Gold
Surrey Gold is fresh, clean, light and balanced and possesses a herbal, fruity, citric quality, with lovely fresh elderflower aromas.  It goes well with white fish, cold meats, salad and pate.

Denbies Flint Valley
Made from a blend of grapes grown on the chalk soils of Surrey, which imparts the wine with its distinctive hints of flinty steeliness and also enhances the grapes’ floral, fruit-driven flavour of lime zest and ripe pear. This wine is a great partner to smoked fish, Moules marinière, salmon and seafood.

La Joya Pinot Noir Gran Reserva
From the premium region of Leyda Valley in Chile, this superb Pinot Noir is the winner of a number of international wine awards including the International Wine Challenge.  It has an intense and fruity nose with aromas of wild berries. Silky and elegant with red cherries, strawberries and raspberries, Pinot Noir is a fantastic wine to drink by itself and matches majestically with a wide range of different food. Pairs particular well with mushrooms, duck, game, tuna steak and salmon.

L’Instant Truffier Malbec
Though more commonly associated with Argentina, Malbec actually originated in France with this amazing example hailing from Cahors near Bordeaux.  It is a beautiful dense, blackish purple with aromas of black cherry and bramble fruit, along with hints of anise and prune. The palate is bold and robust, framing juicy fruit with peppery tannins.  In a world saturated with Argentinian Malbec, try this rather special wine as a bold, yet elegant alternative.
