Batemans Win Boston College Award

The Boston and Beyond Business Awards ceremony on 28th February 2023 was an event to remember, as entrepreneurs, innovators, and game-changers from across the region gathered to celebrate their achievements. The awards were presented at the Boston College Low Carbon Lincolnshire event held at Boston United Football ground in partnership with the South and East Lincolnshire Councils Team. Local businesses got the chance to understand how some of the developing green technology works and where it is likely to impact on the way we work and live, along with the vital skills needed for it.

The event was graced by two distinguished speakers, Professor Averil MacDonald and Professor Alun Vaughan, who added an extra layer of insight and inspiration to the proceedings.

The winners of the various categories were a testament to the diverse and dynamic business landscape of the area, with companies from a range of industries taking home awards.

We are extremely proud to announce that we at George Bateman and Son Ltd won the coveted “Made in East Lindsey Award” which was a popular choice among the attendees. We are excited that our commitment to producing locally made high-quality beers has been recognised by Boston College and highlights the strength of our local economy.

We have been brewing beer in Lincolnshire since 1874 and will continue to do by serving our loyal customers locally and countrywide.

The Innovation Award winners, Incredible Husk Group Ltd and Lucabo International Ltd showcased the entrepreneurial spirit that has become synonymous with Boston and its surrounding regions.

The Environmental Impact Award Winners, Sakata UK Ltd and TH Clements & Sons Ltd showed that businesses can have a positive impact on the environment while still being successful. Their commitment to sustainability is a great example to other businesses, and it is clear that they are leading the way when it comes to green business practices.

The Made in Boston Award Winner, Mountain’s Boston Sausage, was another crowd favourite. Their sausages are made using traditional methods and locally sourced ingredients, which has helped them build a loyal following in the region. The company’s success is a great example of the importance of preserving local traditions and supporting local businesses.

The EV Design Award Winner, Dan Hillman, Electrical Installations Level 2, Boston College, was a shining example of the importance of investing in the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators. His skills and knowledge will be essential in the coming years as the world moves towards more sustainable energy sources.
